To praise Hadhrat Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala in the best manner is only done by His Habib Syedina Mohammad Rasulallah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wassalam

Allah subhanahu Wata’ala on the other hand has bestowed upon Rasulallah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam His countless blessings hence  to raise His level where no one from amongst The Creation of Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala will ever reach.

While from beginning of time, and for all times ,( i.e the past, the present and the future) Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala along with all His Angels Salawat upon Rasulallah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam.

We, the present Ummah      ( nation) are most blessed Ummah amongst all the  previous Ummah’s. For we are the Ummah of best of all Messenger’s, best of all Holy prophets, for that matter the best of all Allah’s creations i.e Mohammad Rasulallah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam

This is the greatest blessing and kindness of Hadhrat Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala to us Ummah that we are directed to read Salawat and Salams upon Hadhrat Habibullah    ( the beloved of Allah) Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam. For there are countless blessings for us when we recite Salawat and Salams.

Many thousands of books on Salawat and importance of Salawat has been written by very highly learned Scholars. In the past 1400 years, starting with compilation of Hadith ( Tradition of Rasulallah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam ).

One of such book of Salawat is written by   “ Hadhrat Al- Sheikh-ul  Imam Abu Abdullah Syed Mohammad bin Sulaiman Al-Jazuli. Qaddasallahu  Sirrahul Aziz Radhi-Allahu Anhu. ”  And the book is named “ Dalaailul Khairaat Shareef “.

A respected Scholar Maulana Siddiq Osman Noor Muhammad has written beautiful appreciation remarks ( May Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala  give him and all others at Iqra.com the rewards here in this world and  in the Akhirah Ammeen.) which state the importance of Salawat. With reference to Dalaailul Khairaat Shareef, he explains the importance of love for the Holy prophet Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam and the importance of recitation of Salawat. The wording of one Hadith Shareef as quoted ,

Wa 'an Anas-in Radhi-Allahu anhu ,annahu qaal: Qaala Rasulallahi Sallallahu 'alaihi wa Sallam

Laa yu'minu ahadukum hattaa akoona ahabba ilaihi
Min nafsihi wa maalihi wa waladihi wa waalidihi wannaasi ajma'een”

Hadhrat Anas, Radhi Allahu 'Anhu reported that the Holy Messenger  (Of Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala) Sallallahu 'alaihi wa Sallam, said,

"None of you becomes a true believer until he loves me more than himself, his wealth, his children, his parents, and all people".

This hadith has been reported in both Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim with slightly different wording.

According to another hadith narrated by Sayyidina 'Umar Radhi Allahu 'Anhu, the noble Prophet Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam said this three times:  “Alaa laa Imaana Liman Laa Mahabbata Lahu”

Behold! A person does not have faith if he does not love him(meaning love the the Holy Prophet, Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam).

According to a hadith narrated by Hadhrat 'Abdullah bin 'Amr ibn al-'Aas Radhy Allahu 'Anhu and reported in Sahih Muslim.

If you recite salawat upon the Holy Prophet Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam once, Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala sends TEN Rahmats (blessings) upon you .

According to another hadith narrated by Sayyidina 'Ali Radhy Allahu 'Anhu and reported in Tirmidhi

if you hear the name of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ibn 'Abdillah Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam mentioned and if you do not send blessings on him, then you are counted among the bukhalaa (plural of bakheel, the miserly).

Since to recite salawat on the Holy Prophet Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam is such a good and meritorious deed, Imam al-Jazuli Rahmatullahi 'Alaihi  perhaps decided to call his kitab of salawat

"Dalailul Khairaat "(Proofs of Good Deeds).
